This powerful and concentrated Cabernet combines notes of cassis, violet, dried blackberries, mocha and tobacco leaf with firmly-structured tannins and a broad, mouth-filling texture. Structured and balanced with an outstanding, long finish.
Sitting high above the fog line on Napa Valley’s eastern side, the Howell Mountain AVA is known for producing dense and commanding Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes for this wine were grown in a single vineyard with well-drained soils of volcanic ash and clay. Due to the elevation and positioning of the mountain, these grapes received long hours of sunlight followed by cool nighttime temperatures, which ensured they reached their full expression while retaining high acidity.

92pts, James Suckling 2019 Bread & Butter Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
“The nose is deeply perfumed, with aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries and graphite. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and acidity, giving notes of blood plums, coffee beans and dried herbs. Balanced and fresh. Drink or hold.” –JS, September 2024
