Deep and expressive, our 2023 Cabernet Franc opens with alluring aromas of violet and dried raspberry layered with subtle hints of toasted oak. The palate is savory and complex, revealing notes of clove, tobacco, and wild sage that lead into a smooth, medium-bodied finish. Silky tannins and gentle toasty oak from 20 months in French barrels add warmth and structure.
Crafted from Cabernet Franc with a touch of Merlot, this limited-production wine marks our very first Cabernet Franc for Bread & Butter, with only 84 cases produced. As winemaker Matt Shuplock puts it, this wine is “dark and moody” in the best way — perfect alongside hearty stews, lamb ragu, or wild mushroom pasta… or simply enjoyed with good friends, a beautiful sunset, and maybe even a bowl of white cheddar Cheez-Its.
